Welcome to the EFTA Air Research Centre website (EFTA-LKI)
EFTA principle: „Life improvement, protection of the environment and nature ” (EFTA-LKI)
The idea of EFTA „ These researches are the building blocks of our civilization to create a cleaner and healthier world”
About the Research Centre: “EFTA-LKI has a key role to play in European and national environmental research and in the creation of state-of-the-art environmental analyzes of air pollution. ”
Introduction:
The EFTA-LKI’s main task is to promote research and research on the scientific, social and economic aspects of atmospheric anthropogenic pollutants (such as air pollution for ecosystems, biodiversity, climate change, and its effects on human health, in which we create analyzes, outlook-dissemination writings and publications on the increase and atmospheric evolution of urban air pollutants.
The research centre dealing with Environmental Knowledge, Nature Conservation and the Analysis and Investigation of Atmospheric Pollution is committed to a clean, green, healthy future. Research on Air Quality and Protection is a basic research topic in the topics of the centre where we mainly research and analyze the frequency, impact and impact of the air we breathe (polluter concentration).
The purpose of the EFTA LKI: The purpose of the EFTA LKI is to provide support for the development of health, social and economic research. The task of the research centre is to inform society through community information and scientific publications, in the development of environmental-climatic directions of current trends, and what changes are happening today with air pollution.
Air research outlook: „ Based on experience and trends, there is now a growing interest in the day-to-day issue of air quality from politics, the media, the economy and society, at the same time, there is a growing need to learn about the scientific background, to monitor change, and to research to protect the air. ”
„ The idea of EFTA: In a healthy city where the goal is to protect the overall quality and health of the inhabitants, it is essential that a reliable research centre station, which is for the welfare of our existence, operates continuously, research and analysis of fresh or even polluted air research impact assessments, studies and the health effects of anthropogenic emissions. ”
Projects:
- „ Writing of the publication more liveable Cities, Society and Planet ” ” / Theoretical Writing, Works ”
The importance of air quality
The basic condition for our existence is clean air, which we inhale daily. For life on Earth, air (and water) is an essential life-sustaining element, the quality of which (such as the degree of pollution) has a full impact on our daily lives. The importance of air quality and pollution (as well as water) is indisputable, as polluted air can bring about significant biological, chemical and physical changes for all living things on the planet, the ecosystem, climate and inanimate things. (all-encompassing)
One of the biggest challenges of our time is to improve air quality and reduce and reduce anthropogenic emissions, therefore the research centre, studies (or intends to determine on this basis) the possibilities and directions of research and analysis of various pollutants, such as particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, soot, and trend research on the decline of fine and ultrafine (PM) particles.
EFTA research topics:
In the research topics of the research centre, we analyze some topics in the examination topics of air as a prominent role in the development of life, in which we look for the answer, the frequency, impact and impact of pollutant concentrations in the air we inhale on health and the environment and to reduce exposure to air pollution, what priority tasks and targets are needed to improve air pollution. „ the directions of the thematic areas in the EFTA Air Research Centre are equivalent to those set out in our basic tasks).
Our basic tasks
(directions of air, air quality, air quality and protection)
- Social information on air and climate protection, publications, journals and an analysis of the situation regarding to air pollution development goals, indicators and priorities.
- Dissemination of the importance of environmental awareness (environment and health)
- Greenhouse gas emission monitoring activities (data analysis)
- Montage of research areas of air quality limit values. (examination of emission limit values for important air pollutants)
- Air condition assessment, quality control and monitoring (air quality and anthropogenic emissions)
- Analysis, study and evaluation of impacts and interactions on different areas of air pollution (e.g. climate change, atmosphere, ocean mountains and natural areas)
- Innovative research for healthier urban life and improvement in climate change (green solutions and development directions for cleaner air in research to protect the population and nature)
EFTA „ city and development ” research directions
(Research on the creation of more liveable cities)
- The directions of a sustainable, climate-adaptive city and its development.
- Making suggestions and recommendations on the possibilities of developing more liveable capitals. (green city, healthy residents)
- Analysis and research in the development of a sustainable urban public transport system
- Living space (green and environmentally friendly spatial development)
EFTA’s analyzes, publications or quick reports, research into the potential of more liveable cities, serve and define how to create a healthier environment for city dwellers, a better increase in the share of technological developments and green goals.
The following air pollutants are researched at the research centre.
- Types of smog, their characteristics and short- and long-term effects on man, nature, the atmosphere and inanimate things. (For example, buildings)
- Types of acidification/acid rain: (SO2 + NOx + CO2), their characteristics and short- and long-term effects on man, nature, (soil, forest, vegetation, water systems, ecosystem, biodiversity, climate)
- Analysis of volatile organic compounds and hydrocarbon derivatives. (VOCs): Investigation and analysis of organic compounds (VOCs) in air
- Carbon dioxide (CO2): The main source of global warming) CO2 emissions, their effects on man, nature, ecosystem, climate change)
Nitrogen oxides (NOx): types of acid rain formation, their characteristics and short- and long-term effects on man, and nature (soil, forest, vegetation, water systems, ecosystem, biodiversity) - Sulphur dioxide (SO2): its types, characteristics and short- and long-term effects on man and nature (soil, forest, vegetation, water systems, ecosystem, biodiversity)
- Carbon monoxide (CO): types, characteristics and health and environmental impact (soil, forest, vegetation, water systems, ecosystem, biodiversity, climate change)
- Ozone (O3) types, their characteristics and their health and environmental impact (soil, forest, vegetation, water systems, ecosystem, biodiversity, climate change)
- Types of flying powder, their characteristics and their health and environmental impact.
„ In the air research centre, in addition to studying, testing and analyzing the effects of major air pollutants, research into secondary and tertiary air pollutants is also considered an important task. These pollutants include Nitrogen dioxide, Ammonia, heavy metals and their small particles, organic pollutants, benzene butadiene, dichloroethane, dichloromethane, photochemical oxidants, arsenic, mercury, hydrogen sulphide, cadmium, chromium, manganese, nickel, vinyl chloride, formaldehyde, styrene, tetrachloroethylene or other hydrocarbons, compounds and organic substances ”
Cleaner air, favourable human health
To preserve and improve our health, EFTA’s research pays special attention to the study and study of air quality in cleaner air, and we attach a significant role to research and development of innovation.
Strategic research
In our exploration we look for answers to how measuring against air pollution affects territorial retail and natural protection, and what decision-making processes to mitigate exposure to air pollution, are implemented by plans and goals. (European Green Agreement, EU directives and international conventions on climate protection)
Innovative research
Renewable technologies and green areas contribute to healthier urban life, so the air research centre considers it a priority to increase the opportunities for research and analysis and development for the development and application of environmentally friendly technologies and to research trends in growth.
At the research centre, we consider it an important task to increase the proportion of urban green spaces in the combination of modern and green (in the research directions of the development of environmentally friendly technologies). EFTA is thinking of a city where there is a place for green culture based on clean technology and a modern environment.
